Ballet in Paris

I am visiting a friend in Paris between 10th Aug %26amp; 16th Aug. She has lived there for many years. We learnt ballet together as young people and still have a love for classical ballet. I think it would be fablous to sit in on a ballet class, rehearsal, or a real show, whether a ballet school or professional ballet. I think we could handle a very passive ballet class - which would also be great - if such a thing existed. As a thank you to her I am trying to find something special that she may not have done- seen - in her time in Paris. Can you help. I can pack a 2 pairs of soft ballet shoes and tights for us! PS we are 59 and fit but not super fit!

PPS LOOK forward to your replies

Wow that%26#39;s the worse time for ballet an dshows in Paris: August is between two seasons, therefore all venues and schools are closed. You have to go down south for the Dance festival and I think it finishes early in August...

The only thing I can think of is that Tango evening trip that takes place every night by the river in the Tino Rossi park or the Salsa classes at the Barrio Latino in Bastille... But nothing classical...

The Tango is really pleasant though, you should definitely go one night!

Thanks for your reply - I have only just logged in to this since your reply - the trip is over but what a great time - the Moulin Rouge was great value and very sophisticated and professional, loved every minute - The Paris Opera House amazing - %26amp; the Degas paintings of the ballet at the Lovre reduced me to tears in a flash - Robin and I laughed and cried together at the moment - bought a beautiful pair of Repetto ballet flats as a memento
