Help! Looking for a campsite in Provence for family next Aug

My sis is getting wed near Istres next summer - middle of August. I plan to travel to the south by car with the husband and two little ones (5 %26amp; 2). To keep costs down we%26#39;re planning on camping and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for reasonably priced family-friendly campsites (got to have a pool!) in the Provence (/Rhone Alps too maybe - within easy reach of A7)

I%26#39;ve never been that far south in France and really don%26#39;t know where to begin.... we%26#39;d like to be within a couple of hours of Istres/Marseilles.

I%26#39;ve never posted here before but have gleaned lots of advice and tips in the past from these forums...so fingers crossed!

It%26#39;s a very nice area, with plenty of campsites. There are a couple near Arles, Les Rosiers and Camping la Chapelette, and there is also Camping Neptune. I think the latter costs about 450 euros for a week in a mobile home in August.

But do bear in mind the great heat there will be in the middle of August; your children are very young, and apart from getting in the water or going into woodland, there isn%26#39;t always a way to stay out of the sun. I%26#39;m a great fan of camping, we used to camp every summer with the family, but the heat could make it difficult for the children down there. And you do have a very special occasion to attend.

We live not so far away half the year, and we come back to UK around the middle of July just because of the heat.

If possible, go for a gite or an apartment, and make sure it has air con; this way you%26#39;ll have space inside to move around and sit down to everday activities, especially for the 2 year old. It will cost quite a lot more than a campsite, but would probably be a lot more suitable.

Check out Gites de France, and other rental companies, plus the local tourist offices at Arles etc. They speak very good English, and usually reply quickly to emails. If your sister is being married down there, has she access to info to help you find a reasonably priced suitable apartment/gite?
