Buying metro/rer tickets from the machine

was exceptionally easy, although the rolling pin thingy was remarkably sensitive, and I kept shooting past what I wanted the first time or two.

If I%26#39;d wanted to buy several mobilis tickets all at once, that would have been fine but what I couldn%26#39;t find was how to buy a combination of tickets, eg my airport ticket plus mobilis, or plus carnet or plus t+ and so on. That would have been useful as I was paying by card, which has attracted a £2 per transaction charge - it would be £2 for 1 ticket or 100, provided it was all one transaction.

I know there%26#39;s always the option to go to the office but wondered if there was a machine way too.

Interestingly enough, there isn%26#39;t always an option to %26quot;go to the office%26quot;, even if there is a clerk there. As I was using the machine earlier this month, I noticed several people go up to the clerk%26#39;s window asking to buy tickets. He refused and directed them to the machines. This was at the Ecole Militaire metro stop.

I really wish people would just TRY the machines. It%26#39;s not rocket science...

I couldn%26#39;t figure it out on my own, first I thought it was a touch screen and then I didn%26#39;t know that the pewter colored roller was the human machine interface. Once the helpful Metro worker showed me how to use the machine, it was easy.

Ya but, Snidely...um...:)

I agree it%26#39;s very easy to use - but is there a multiple purchase option? Not multiples of the same ticket but 1 each of different tickets?

I don%26#39;t think there is a way to make a multiple purchase. It would be easy to implement a %26quot;pay now/add to basket%26quot; option. I think you should write to the RATP to complain about that, you can%26#39;t be the first having experienced that. If you detail how much it cost you in bank fees, maybe they%26#39;ll give you some kind of voucher.

There are more and more metro station where the cashier is just a helper. Of course the goal here is to close all the offices and leaving just the machines. They go on strike %26quot;for a yes or a no%26quot; but I heard nobody complain about that.

At the Sully- Moreland station on the 7 line, the womn came out of the booth and walked me through the machine process.
