Wondering whether to plan a White Christmas holiday ...

I live in Asia, so travelling to France would be a long journey. I%26#39;m thinking of a holiday in Alsace / Strasbourg and venturing over to Germany as well at the end of Nov for 2 weeks.

My questions are:

With it being winter, would it be worth the hassle doing such a long trip (flying to Europe etc) with 2 young kids (aged 3 and 7)?

Assuming it is worth visiting in winter (as opposed to summer, i.e. next June), what sort of activities are there? (I have bought guidebooks already, so have a general idea of visiting castles, Christmas markets...) I%26#39;m hoping for some %26#39;real life%26#39; suggestions on an interesting itinerary for my kids and I.

Thanks much in advance!

You%26#39;re the only one who knows your kids, so you%26#39;re the only one who can really make that call. It will be cold, and the days will be quite short (it will be dark by 5pm)...so it will be heavier clothes, boots, etc., and none of you will be acclimated to cold weather.

Having said that, however, if there is snow (maybe, maybe not!) hristmas markets are magical with the lights, and the decorations (and the vin chaud...) -- and would give your kids a very different holiday experience. Even with no snow, there%26#39;s just a sparkle in the air when it%26#39;s chllly that you don%26#39;t get in more temperate climes (lived in Florida for 25 years, so I can say that with some experience!)

There are good points and bad points...all has to be weighed on your scale.
