Hello,
My wife and I are thinking of staying in Dijon for 2 nights in early-mid January 2010 and would like some information.
Can you please answer these questions for us:
1. What is the weather like at this time of year?
2. Does the winter make it difficult to get around and see things?
3. We are both interested in the culinary aspect of the region, are things open during this period? (Eg, shops, restaurants, wineries, cheese factories)
4. Can you recommend any decent medium-priced hotels in the city?
4. Can you recommend any decent restaurants at reasonable prices in the city?
Thanks very much!
If you have any other interesting information about the region, please let me know
Many thanks for your help and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Jonathan Edwards

Here you go:
2 nights are very short since it makes only one full day and there is a lot to see in Dijon.
Q1 Weather is quite unpredictable, we can have cold days and also snow or frost but we also had milder winters but anyway always take a pull over and a good coat.
Q2 if there is snow it can be difficult on the first days to navigate on secondary roads if they are not used much. Otherwise no problem with trains.
Q3 Everything is open as usual, some restaurants may take a few days off between Christamas and New year but everybody is back to work in January.
Q4 That is an interesting question! I myself own a self catering accommodation right in the centre of Dijon. You%26#39;ll find a few reviews on the forum here if you search for %26quot;my home in dijon%26quot; or www.myhomeindijon.com
Q5 on my website as well in the menu you%26#39;ll find a section called %26quot;they dined here%26quot; in the apartement my guests wrote about the restaurants and palces like shops in Dijon and Beaune and I scanned the pages with directions. If you give me your budget it would be easier to knwo where to send you. If you want to splurge for only 25€ Stephane Derbord(1star Michelin) surprise menu is the best one.
