What is happening with Air France, worst service???

Has anyone notice that Air France is becoming a bad airline.

Yesterday my son fly like a UM from Genevé, to Mexico via CDG, it was terrible, we pay 150 euros... for what??? so they take him at CDG to a place where there was nothing for 4 hours without food or something, he recived a terrible service.

Really next time I will travel with British Airways, much better but it doesnt have daily flights from Mexico to London, I will try KLM or Lufthansa.

I%26#39;m not sure there is any one particular airline these days that is truly excellent-except perhaps Singapore Air from what the surveys say? I don%26#39;t know and can%26#39;t even say how it%26#39;s like as I%26#39;ve never flown with them. But I have flown with Air France, and apart from their deleting our bookings this past March the onboard service was typical as usual. It was okay. I don%26#39;t think British Airways is any better just average. Have read comments that KLM has improved after merging with AF, but have also read other comments saying they%26#39;re not so good too. Lufthansa is the same.

Yes, Singapore Air is the best as far as I%26#39;m concerned. I%26#39;ve flown them regularly for 10 years. There are other good airlines in that region, too.

I fly Air France from L.A. to Paris because it%26#39;s a non-stop flight and it lands in a better terminal than landing in the old terminal. Plus, I can get frequent flyer miles. If Singapore Air flew the same route, I%26#39;d be on the plane in a heartbeat. Happy Travels!

Ick, CDG...one of the worst airports ever...

The seats in economy are soooooo hard but I do like the snack bar on the long haul night flights.

Business class on AF looks very nice and takes up the biggest area on an aircraft I have seen.

Charal,, flying as a UM is really not a service.. its not like the kids get any special treatment at all. I am not talking about Air France either. this was on Air Canada .We fly our dd across the country to visit her cousins every summer, about 5 hours. Once we forgot to give her any spending money for the plane. She was given nothing to eat for 5 hours. Everything was pay for food only,, but, I did think they could have given her at least a bowl of noodles( they were 4 dollars,, but really are only about .80 cents ) . Thank goodness she had some gum with her,, and I think I had packed a granola bar,, but for the 100 dollars we paid I did think they could have been nice to a 11 yr old child and given her at least a COOKIE or something. They also sat her next to a crying 6 yr old and asked my dd to %26quot;look after her%26quot;,, and the child got sick too!!

Personally our airlines will not fly kids UM if it is not a direct flight.. did you not realize when you booked the flight that your child would have to be alone for a FOUR hour layover,, no way would I have wanted that for my child.

CDG worst airport, maybe not but for connection it is the worst

And about the price, no is that we already had a ticket that cost us 1070 usd for a person that is more than 12 years old, so he arrived at the airport and because the ticket didnt had the UM service he payed 150 euros just for one way.

And about the comment of UM is not a service so why???%26#39; I need to pay more, so they put my son without food or anything in a staff room????

The worst thing is that is not optional, and why I mention BA, because this summer he flew from MEX TO CDG VIA LONDON and because it was his first time flying to London we payed the optional 50 dollars service which it worth the value, because at LHR he also was 3 hours waiting but in a kids room, with playstation, tvs, food, and thats why BA is good, they also gave my son a gift, the first class things, like if he flew in first and he was flying in Club Europe.

I wonder also if the service is bad with AF if because in the class you are going, I usually travell in buisness but because the economy is good to save some money, but still Im still mad for the UM service, I already contact AF, and told them it will be the last time we fly with them, we will need to buy other 5 tickets from GVA-MEX roundtrip in less than a year, if they dont give my son or any of my family members a good service.

Hi people -

The $150 and $100 are not the fares, they are the supplemental fees required for all the extra care the cabin crew are supposed to be giving the children.

I never fly AF because I%26#39;m not willing to fly through CDG - perhaps the worst airport in the world. My airline of choice for Europe is KLM. All my experiences with them, including to African and Asian destinations, have been completely satisfactory. I particularly like the fact that they fly a double crew on their long haul flights, rather than station a crew at each end of the route. Not only does their system mean that there is always a well-rested group available in case of an emergency, it also means that passengers get to deal with folks who aren%26#39;t worn out and cranky. And that%26#39;s worth a lot. And you get to fly through AMS Schipol - one of the best and most pleasant terminals there is.

I agree with the assessment of Singapore Air, and would add Thai, and Emirates to the list of great airlines.

OK - someone fill me in. Why is CDG the worst for a connection? We have just booked our ski trip to Italy on AF and it is our first time using this airline and the first time flying into CDG. We fly to Italy with a layover at CDG. On the way back, we are spending a couple of days in Paris before heading home.

Since the US airlines we have been using keep getting worse, we thought AF would be a good bet (other %26#39;foreign%26#39; airlines we have flown - British Air, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus, etc. have always seemed better than the US airlines).

Is AF truly any worse than most of the others?

%26gt; My airline of choice for Europe is KLM. %26lt;

No one tell 1BC AF and KLM merged in 2004.
