Best way to Sacre coeur for elderly

Hello

I am taking some elderly relatives for a weekend in Paris and they want to see the Basilique de Sacre Coeur and i am worried they may struggle with the hills which Metro station would be the best to avoid the climb

You can go to Pigalle (or Abbesses) then take the Montmartrobus. The Montmartrobus is a little electric bus that does a circuit and passes Sacre Coeur.

There are no Métro stations at the top of the hill so it%26#39;s either walking up, the Montmartrobus or the Funiculaire (nearest Métro Anvers).

Thanks jdbri

I forgot about the funiculaire problem sorted

We saw the cute little Montmartrobus (like an electric %26#39;seaside%26#39; train) go past us last weekend and it looked great! We were on our way to a wedding and didn%26#39;t have time to hop on board otherwise we would have for sure...

The Montmartrobus is a little %26#39;Hoppa%26#39;-type bus. The train is something different (and it does look like fun!). The Monmartrobus is great as it does a circuit (www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan.php…) so, if you get tired walking, you can get on, take a seat, and watch the world go by and end up back where you started from. :-)

Thanks jdbri for the clarification - do you know what the little train is called? We%26#39;ve tried googling (Montmartrotrain! lol) but can%26#39;t find it%26#39;s name...

It%26#39;s this one that we saw:

Once in a while you could use a taxi to get dropped at the door of places.

We took the #80 Montmartrobus, it was fun just being on it as the driver managed the small streets. There is a stop very near the base of Sacre and the bathroom near the stop is free and clean. The bus did have an issue and didn%26#39;t resume at one stop, the regulars didn%26#39;t seem to be surprised by this. At one point on the ride we could see a wind mill up one of the side streets.

I second the Montmartrobus - it%26#39;s genial. You can just ride to the top of the hill, hop off, walk around - and then hop on again. It will cost you a ticket each time you hop on/off, but it%26#39;s very much worth it.

Print out the route at home from www.ratp.fr. Choose %26quot;Plan de Lignes%26quot; (green circle to the left) - then scroll a bit down and click on %26quot;Bus%26quot;. Write Montmartrobus in the blank field and it will pop up underneath. Click on %26quot;Valider%26quot;.

And voilè - you have the map of the route !!
