Cooking Classes in Beaune/Burgundy?

Wondering if anyone has recommendations on cooking classes in Beaune or Burgundy? I can only seem to find rather extravagant multi-day courses. We%26#39;re just looking for a partial day or one day %26quot;fun%26quot; course. Thanks for your input!

In Dijon I tried in February %26quot;l%26#39;Atelier des chefs%26quot;. You can choose from 1/2h lesson up to 4 hours and it starts from 17€ (and you eat what you%26#39;ve made on a long table in the workshop) Very good value and the chef is very nice and patient (and he speaks English). Here is their website for Dijon, you can check the agenda up to 4 weeks in advance.

Have fun!

Another option is to sign up for a one-day class through Burgundy Discovery. My husband and I just did it last week. It%26#39;s very intimate, for lack of a better word--just you and your group and Lynne in her farmhouse kitchen. I have taken lots of cooking classes previously and my husband hasn%26#39;t and we both learned a lot and had a great time. Feel free to send me a PM for additional information. I can%26#39;t recall how much it costs. I want to say around 300 Euros for both of us. (We did a package that include one day of wine touring as well, so costs may be different). We also got to sample some more wines before and after lunch and it was an amazing way to experience Burgundy.

Meant to say it%26#39;s all in English, too.

Thank you both for your advice! Will check out both sites. I have looked into Burgundy Discovery and it looks wonderful, but sadly out of our budget. Yet I%26#39;m sure there%26#39;s a way to get a taste...thank you!

Alex Miles a chef from New York who owned several Patisseries is giving very good classes in Dijon. He will take you to the market in the morning, he knows all stall owners and makes you really experience and understand french home cooking and shopping. he has a kitchen in the center he will cook with you what ever you selected that morning. he knows his stuff, is very funy and entertaining and we have a lot of guest who have taken his classes and loved it. I think he is the best!

How do I connect with Alex Miles? Is there a web site for reservations and additional information? Many thanks.

We can recommend Burgundy on a Plate for an interesting range of half day cooking courses. We chose one that took place in Beaune learning traditional cuisine with a french chef, but we were also offered a course learning fusion japanese/french cooking as well as a half day course in Rully with a more provencale flavour . The course was part of our one day wine %26amp; cooking tour so we also toured the vineyards of the region in the afternoon and stopped for two excellent cellar visits tasting some excellent wines. This was a luxury day for my husband%26#39;s 40th birthday but worth every euro! Sue of Burgundy on a Plate is extremely knowlegeable both on the Burgundy wine region and all things gastronomy!

We can recommend The Cook%26#39;s Atelier in Beaune. Marjorie Taylor is an American living in Beaune and she offers market tours and hands-on cooking classes. You can visit her website at:
