Well that%26#39;s not good. I have only been to Bergerac twice and although the station is a fairly busy place I cannot recall anything specific. There taxis there and that might be the way, as I reckon it must be about 400 yards (ie 1/4 mile nearly) from the front of the station to that hotel.

Sorry, hit submit too early. Memory says that there is a bar/restaurant.hotel right opposite the station. I cannot remember the name. It%26#39;s only a small place, the tables and chairs outside but what was it called?

Thank you very much Cubsur, that is a great help and it is fantastic what Trip Advisor has for travellers. Anyone coming down my way, I will be very pleased to answer all questions if I can ,like you did for me. At first I was rather skeptical about joining, but soon realised that it is genuine and people from all walks of life do need a little help. Yes like John Lennon%26#39;s song, %26quot; A Little Help From My Friend %26quot; Congratulations to Trip Advisor for hosting an invaluable free service. Merci Merci Beaucoup! have to learn more French from now on.Cheers.Sunny Torbay aka Cath Sherwood

Hello,

I stayed at the Europ Hotel in Begerac this past July. It was fine for the price; 400 meters is a good estimate of the distance from the station. As mentioned, directly across the street from the station is a cafe (maybe 2). There is also an internet cafe, and on the same block, the Europcar rental agency. If you planning to rent a car for this part of the trip, you could pick up a rental right off and then you wouldn%26#39;t have to worry about getting your brother to the hotel.

You should note that the center of old Bergerac, the port area, is very interesting but quite a walk from the hotel.

Directly opposite the railway station is Le Moderne. It is recommended in a couple of well-known guides so I went along on 20 October but couldn%26#39;t get a room. If you plan to stay there I%26#39;d book in advance.
