Going to Amerstam to catch some amazing live music in March and would love to fit in a ski trip to Chamonix. What would be the most convenient and economical way to pull that off?
Thanks!

Evidently there are flights AMS Schipol to Geneva and then bus transport from there. Check out www.tripbase.com and www.flightpedia.com for further info. BTW - Google is your friend.

If you are flying to and from AMS back to the %26#39;states then it might be worth looking for a rail pass.
Flying would be much quicker but you can, in theory, travel by train from AMS to Chamonix with a few changes.
Easyjet.com do fly between the 2 as do KLM.

It would take you a minimum of 11 hours to make the trip by train with at least three connections, one of which would involve a change of stations in Paris. It would surely be less expensive to fly with EasyJet even allowing for the extra cost of transporting skis etc.

PS: If you are travelling back to AMS after your visit to Chamonix KLM might be as inexpensive as EasyJet especially considering the baggage charges. Look into booking a KLM RT to Chamonix via A%26#39;dam with a stop-over in A%26#39;dam in one direction. If you can make that work I would suggest going to Chamonix first as March is already getting late for the best snow.
