The ET it is irrelevent which day you go, the lines are long. Especially this weekend with All Saints break. The Louvre is usually more busy over the weekend, esp. right now with locals flocking to the Tintorino show, but again, it is a holiday week and the city is busy.

A few weeks ago I went to the Louvre in the late afternoon on a Friday and there was a very short queue for security and no queues to speak of once inside. On Fridays the Louvre is open until 10pm.

Enter Louvre from underground , either by metro , through the underground shopping mall. I have used that methold my last 7 or 8 visits,, all of them in the height of tourist season,,either July or August,, have never had to wait for more then 10 minutes to get through security. You can access the mall off Rue Du Rivoli,( under a big awning for Caroseul ),, go down escalator, buy ticket from machines, and then go to security line. Easy.
ET,, hey,, I have always had to wait in lines there,, apparently they are now selling online in advance tickets,, likley more expensive,, and rationed,,personally,, I just suck i t up,, and take the stairs,, the line is shorter and moves faster.
