I am going to Toulouse for a couple of Airbus factory tours;
I speak french, so that isn%26#39;t a problem. What is there to do there that I can do cheaply? Keeping in mind I am 19.

Depending on exactly when and if you are a sports fan Toulouse has top-fight teams in football and both codes of rugby, so you might be able to catch a game and prices in France are generally fairly reasonable.

I spent a whole day this year just wandering around the city taking in the sights and sounds. I did use the metro as well though.
A few years ago I also managed to take in a Rugby game and good day it was too.

You should have no difficulty filling your time between the Airbus tours. The historic heart of the city is facinating. However it is also a thriving modern city, not only because of Airbus, with a large student population. So you should be able to make contacts for lowish cost entertainment. If you have the time and the inclination you could visit one of the somewhat smaller towns a fairly short train ride away, such as Auch or Albi.
Echoing Cubsur%26#39;s reference to rugby, one of my fondest memories of Toulouse was happening to arrive on the Sunday after the Stade had won the Championship. The huge main square was filled with celebrating fans watching the team show off the trophy from the Town Hall balcony.
