Ive just booked for Newyear at Dream Castle Hotel at Disneyland Paris .
Never been to Eurodisney before and only ever drove straight through france.
I have a few questions
# Im a bit baffled as to travelling from charles de gaulle Airport to the hotel .Which is the best way .We wont arrive until 7;30pm at night on 30th december .
Also we will be travelling back new years day ! ( is any transport running )
# Disney park opening times over new year - the disney site does not list opening times !
# Is it better to buy tickets from the hotel %26quot;Dream castle%26quot; or buy them prior to going - or is it a special ticket for new years eve?
# Any one been new year - any tips do%26#39;s and dont%26#39;s appreciated .
thanks

There are VEA shuttles that run from CDG terminal 2E/2F to Disney, take about 45 mins, but check their website http://www.vea-shuttle.co.uk as I am not sure of the last bus time on the 30th Dec. They usually run about every 20 mins. I think the last bus on a friday is 10.25pm, 9.55pm on a sunday, and 8.25pm other nts. You can pay the driver or buy tickets at the VEA desk in the terminal.
You could take a train into Paris, then take RER line A4 to Marne La Vallee Chessy, the Disney station, but could take a while to do, and stations may be very busy.
If you are only there for 2 nts, I assume you won%26#39;t have heavy luggage? You could do a detour into Paris to see the Eiffel Tower lit up, ( the lights twinkle on the hour for 5 mins) then carry on to Disney. Just a suggestion as you say you have only driven straight through France before, so may not have seen it). You could even have a boat trip on the Seine, as the boats leave from the quay near the Eiffel Tower. Depends where you are flying from, how tired you will be, and if you are just adults, or young children with you.
The RER line A train to MLVC runs until very late ( we caught it around midnight, and got to Disney at 1am) You can catch it from Charles De Gaulle Etoile station, or Chatelet Les Halles station. MLVC is the end of the line.
If you didn%26#39;t want to see the E Tower, catch RER line B to Chatelet Les Halles, then the RER line A4 to MLVC.
There is a fast train to Disney from CDG called the TGV. It is direct and fast ,only takes 10 mins. I think you catch it beneath Terminal 2, between E and F. I%26#39;m fairly sure you have to book this in advance.
TA member Sarastro knows more about this- are you out there????
Most convenient transfer is a private shuttle or taxi, but I%26#39;m not sure what the cost would be.
You can book the VEA bus shuttle to return to CDG. Ask at your hotel. You need to allow 2 1/2 hrs before your check in time to return. I%26#39;m sure they will be running on NYDay. Your hotel reception will advise.
I havn%26#39;t seen anything about a special ticket for NY Eve on the Disney sites, but they will refuse entry once the park is full even if you have a ticket. I suggest you phone Disney Paris or your hotel and ask about this.
I will try to find the opening / closing hours for you. Both parks usually open at 10am, but people in Disney hotels can go into the Magic Kingdom at 8am and go on selected rides, so you will not be going into an empty park at 10am.
The Studios closes earlier, usually around 7pm. MK is open until 1am NYEve, following fireworks at midnight.
Be prepared, it will be packed to capacity, but I%26#39;m sure a fantastic atmosphere. Use fastpasses wisely for the rides, study the park maps before you go, and head for the rides that appeal the most first. Get to the parks well before opening, as there will be queues at the gates, so have an early breakfast.
Read the reviews of the parks on TA before you go, as there will be tips on there.
Have a great time,
Wish I was going !!!

Just another mention- I think the restaurants in Disney are doing 2 sittings. 6/6.30 pm and 9/9.30 pm. These must be pre booked. NYE dinners are expensive. Fast food places will be open, with counter service.
Try www.dlrpmagic.com for calendar and ride info.
www.dlpfoodguide.com for details of restaurants.
I think a taxi normally charges about 70€ from CDG to Disney, but may be charging more around New Year of course.

If you have not got one, buy a Disneyland Paris Guide book, like the AA one. It describes all the restaurants as well as the rides etc.
You can phone 01 60 30 40 50 to book a table in a restaurant before you go. I advise you do this asap.

Thanks,
I have phoned disneyland they are open 31st december 10am until 1am also open new years day ( not sure of times) - they dont know.
The hotel sells tickets at reception but i would like to buy in advance.
On the disney land site it is not very up to date !! Im quite dissapointed with the site since they are advertising on the TV already.
I have booked via travel republic so am organising it all my self ( damn site cheaper !)
I emailed Disneyland regarding tickets , i have recieved automated response %26quot; too busy to answer emails%26quot;.
Were booked in the DREAM CASTLE hotel which is 10 minutes away ??
Im just worried about getting 2 days tickets to actually get in the park on both those days.
The disney site tickets say prices (valid until November 9th, 2009). now im not sure whether they mean tickets or prices ??
I have tried phoning the ticket line all morning- no answer .I got through to guest relations she said buy tickets off the internet disneysite but keep checking the internet disney site as nothing is on yet about new year ?- so not much help from them
Panick time ?? Im just so worried about tickets now and getting in the park on new year !

Also i forgot to ask;
# If i go in park at say 10am new years eve it%26#39;s a long day as it%26#39;s open until 1am . can i leave park and maybe go back in the same day - or will it be full and cant get back in ??.
|||
It may seem a long day, but with the amount of people there, queues are going to be long, so it is surprising how fast the time goes. There are 4 lands in MK, as well as the shops in Main Street, and I doubt you will manage to do it all in one day, even open until midnight.
I suspect that if you leave the park, they will either not let you back in if full to capacity ( they have to abide by health and safety etc) or they may stamp your hand and allow re entry. Check before you leave !!!!!
If you book a good restaurant ( eg Walts, Blue Lagoon, Silver Spur, Agrabah and Plaza Gardens restaurant) you can have 3 courses, and relax for a while. Remember, it may be VERY cold. We went the week before Christmas one year, and it was freezing. We had layers on, with hats, gloves, and ski jackets.
I really recommend you phone the restaurant reservation number to check availability situation as people book up very early. If you can leave the parks, you could eat in the Disney Village or book one of the Disney hotels restaurants around the lake.
You cannot walk to the parks from the Dream Castle, there is a shuttle bus that takes you to/ fro. Reception will tell you how often they go, but it should be frequently. The bus will stop at the bus stops by the railway station, near the Disney Village entrance, then it is just a few minutes walk to both parks.
I would phone your hotel re tickets. They will speak good English, and be able to answer your questions about NYEve and re admission as well.

As far as I know, park tickets are available for 1 year, and have the date on the back. Disney calendar is only about 2 months ahead, so you will be able to check times later.
|||
Sorry, I meant Valid not available !!!!

Hi,
Not sure what you mean by MK ?
But there are two parks Disney land and then other the studios .
So really Id be better of with just a ticket for Disneyland rather than walt disney studios as if i leave the park ,I may not get back in?
Do you know if anyone has been refused newyears ever due to over capacity ?
My only problem now is buying the tickets .Like I say the actual Disney site isnt helpful at all .
BTW - thanks for all the info !

You can buy Your tickets at Your hotel too.
www.disneylandparis.com
MK stands for the biggest park there with Magical Kingdom and the castle,
Hollywood studio stands for HS and is smaller its MK You want to be on New Years eve. I will just get into the park when it opens and feel how things going, might not be that bad after all !
