Paris or Rome

Thanks to the TA members%26#39; advice , I found the apartment I like and booked it for my trip in June 2010 . It%26#39;s vrbo # 117700 from 6/23-6/30 . I%26#39;m so excited .

Now my next question is Rome or Paris first ? We plan to visit Paris for 7 days , Lugano , Venice , Florence for 3 days in each place and Rome for 5 days .

If I go to Paris first , I will be in Italy until 7/14

If I go to Rome on June 10th and finish in Paris on the 30th , my whole vacation will be in June .

So which way is better , more convenient , more economical ?

Please give me your opinion . I really appreciate it

Thanks in advance

Both June and July are very popular tourist months... so I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s necessarily better one way or the other. I would research the cost of the plane tickets and see which is cheaper/better on which dates!

Also - wow, quite a trip! Please take me with you :)

Go earlier and start in Rome. You%26#39;ll give yourself a better chance of avoiding really uncomfortable heat in Rome and the tourist crowds will be just a little less dense.

|||

Exactly what irish said...

It%26#39;s no guarantee,, but, do anything to avoid the overwhelming heat of July( or August) in Rome. Rome first, then Paris.

|||

Another +1 on what two posters above said. Avoid Rome in July/August at all costs!

The Italian schools start breaking for summer June 12th but the little kids don%26#39;t get out until June 30th. I%26#39;d think there would be more Italian%26#39;s vacationing in July (so June would be better for your visit).

There might be an advantage to Paris first depending on where you live in the US. If you live in a northern tier state, San Francisco or the Pacific Northwest, it would be a double blow to arrive in Rome and get clobbered by jetlag and the unaccustomed heat at the same time. Whereas, if you start in Paris you can acclimated to the heat as you move south.

Of course, if you live in Atlanta or another US hot spot, it wouldn%26#39;t much matter.

|||

I don%26#39;t understand your dates or logistics....

But, I%26#39;d recommend finishing in Paris 6/30.

For one thing, I%26#39;d save Paris for last. For another, I%26#39;d avoid Rome in July for a multitude of reasons.

You just can%26#39;t have %26quot;better, convenient, economical%26quot; all at once, especially during prime tourist season.

During summer vacation in Europe try to avoid the heat!!! It means start in Rome, because it%26#39;s a hotter spot and defenitely June is much better month for visit than July.

|||

Thanks for replying . I will start in Rome and save the best for the last , Paris . Even I live in Texas but I can%26#39;t stand the heat at all

I will come back with the initiary . Hope to get your advise again

Thanks

Just realized I%26#39;ll be in Paris the same time (6/19-6/27).

Only 7 months to go!
