We will be stopping in Cannes for 1 day next month. We are considering a day trip to Nice and Eze. Instead of using the ship%26#39;s tour we are considering going on our own. Here are my questions. We are a group of 9.
What is the easiest way to get from the port to the cities?
Are there any good local tour companies or guides?
Would you go to these towns or others? I have read EZE is nice but touristy
Appreciate all coments

Get an idea of some of your options at Shore Trips
www.shoretrips.com/common/search3.asp…
You can also look at what they have for Nice.
I wouldn%26#39;t worry about visiting someplace %26#39;touristy%26#39;. After all, you are tourists right?
I%26#39;m sure you are thinking of getting the most for your $$$ but be sure not to overthink and cheat yourselves out of a great experience and memories.

How long exactly do you have in port?
I doubt eze vilalge could really be considered touristy in November as it is generally very quiet -IMO winter is really the best time to see Eze village , as long as its a dry day and you aren%26#39;t wanting to lgo to all the little shops.

That excursion site is handy to know - thanks Charlie. From there the party might also consider St Paul de Vence. It%26#39;s touristy of course but offers an ideal hill top village atmosphere with lots of galleries etc. I do wonder about the ship%26#39;s own excursions though as they would be geared to the time allocated and possibly offer the same places.

With a little research on this site you will find quite a few previous posts on this topic--and lots and lots of good answers and recommendations.

The essential function of the Cote D%26#39;Azur is to attract and interest tourists, so the entire area could fairly be described as touristy. November is one of the quietest months but Nice is the fifth largest city in France and, unlike some other places along the coast, is never completely dead. If the day is cold and cloudy you may be the only people in Eze.
Train to Nice, walk or tram to bus station and bus to Eze. Print a map of Nice off the internet before you get there. Trains are not reliable, so to allow for delays you will need to aim for a train that would get you back to Cannes around two hours before the ship sails. You could do the round trip for under 10 euro.
