Bordeaux to Mouliets et Ville Martin

In May 2010 my daughter is getting married at Chateau Rigaud. I will be flying to Bordeaux in a party of 7 which includes 3 elderly ladies. What is the easiest and cheapest way to transfer to our destination? is there a train station at the airport? I have had a quote for the hire of a people carrier which was very expensive around £750 for 5 days, even though we don%26#39;t intend to do any driving around once we are there. Any help or advice anyone could offer will be greatly appreciated.

There is no train station at Bordeaux airport. There is a bus every 45 minutes to the city centre and railway station which costs 7 Euros and taking anything between 30 and 45 minutes depending on traffic. A taxi would be the only other method without hiring a car.

Mouliets et Ville Martin is about two miles from the railway station at Castillon, but I don%26#39;t know if such a thing as a local taxi service exists in that village.

Castillon is about an hour%26#39;s journey by train from Bordeaux on the horribly irregular and infrequent train service on the line Bordeaux - Libourne - Bergerac - Sarlat. Timetable:

That train journey would be 9,40 each so that gets you from the airport to Castillon for 16,40 each but two miles short of your final destination.

Sounds like a private transfer might be an option. the distance by road from tehe airport is about 47 miles, maybe an hour%26#39;s drive. There is a list of transfer companies on the airport website:

Sorry I cannot recommend anyone as I am too mean to pay for taxi; I used the bus last week. Hope that helps in any case.

Thanks for that suggestion. We visited the chateau recently and they don%26#39;t have transport facilities. I have searched again for a hire vehicle and have a much cheaper quote than earlier in the year so we will probably go with that now. Thanks again for your time
