Hotel Vent d'Ouest - location to port

My friend and I staying at this wonderful looking and sounding hotel at the weekend for a mini break. Can anyone advise if it is withing walking distance of the port or will we need a taxi?

Also - any reommendations of what to do whilst we are in Le Havre? We aren%26#39;t hiring a car so things will need to be local or serviced via public transport.

Many thanks.

There are guided tours. Take a look at

le-havre-tourism.com/le-havre-patrimoine/…

At Le havre there%26#39;s the art gallery Andre Malraux, there%26#39;s an exhibtion on Eugene Boudin he discovered and encouraged Monet.. The architecture of le havre has been classed as world heritage. It is all concrete, rebuilt after the destruction of the war. The walls are all 6.25 metrers long. The arcade columns have different decor on them. The church of St Julien is near the hotel it%26#39;s built in concrete. It%26#39;s more interesting inside than out

There%26#39;s the %26#39;Maison de l%26#39;armateur%26#39; to visit (Ship owners house) one of the few houses to have escaped destruction. It has been refurbished as it was in it%26#39;s hey day.

At St Adresse there%26#39;s a beach (brrr)

You could get a train to Rouen.

You could also get a bus to Honfleur, the most picturesque town in Normandy.
