Paris in December with family - mom, dad and 2 kids 7&9

I am travelling to Paris on Dec 31 to spend 7 nights with spouse and kids. I really plan to enjoy the city (not to do things on a hurry) and see only one major attraction for each day, so that we have plenty of time and fun.

Would appreciate receiving some ideas, specially for New Year%26#39;s Eve and January 1st. Maybe on January 1st the best is to go to Eurodisney, so the kids have some fun. I understand that most of the attractions are closed this day too, so we spend it doing something else.

How is the weather like on this time of year? Rain/snow?

Thanks in advance or %26#39;merci%26#39;!

We have been there for two New Years. First one we stayed put. 2007-2008 we had our grandson with us. We just had a nice supper on the Eve, tried walking up Champs Elysee, but it was so crowded and cold we gave up. But on January 1, up at Chaillot, they had maybe 15 bands from all over the world, who marched and played, very nice, colder than cold. Don%26#39;t know if it is happening this year or not. The ferris wheel is usually on Concorde at the end of the Tuilierres.

Thanks! I heard Champs Elisee gets really crowded; I was hoping to have dinner at some nice brasserie and then walk around for some fun!
