Staying in Paris for 3 nights then traveling to London via ferry or Eurostar (?). What do you suggest taking to get there? Will be leaving on Nov. 24 for London and how do you get to departure site?
First time for both. I am traveling with family (3).

No question...EUROSTAR...from PARIS-Gare du Nord in center-city Paris to LONDON-Saint Pancras in center-city London in approx 2:15--:30 hrs (given the local Paris/London Time Zone difference--1:15--:30 hrs).
Pre-purchase tickets well in advance for lowest fares. Be sure to check round-trip fares (use a ficticious date for the Return, then toss it away) which may offer the lowest one-way fare. If you have any flexibility in your proposed travel itinerary, %26#39;..tinker..%26#39; with different travel dates and times-of-day to find the lowest fares.

Hi -
You need a new guide book. The one you have is completely inadequate if it lacks this very basic information. The big problem is, of course, that you have no idea what other basic information it lacks, as well.

Eurostar all the way!
The ferry from Dover over to Calais is enjoyable for sure, but its an hour drive to dover, a 45 minute wait, a 2 hour ferry and then another, say, 5 hour drive through Paris including stops and food before you%26#39;re in paris. Plus, there is getting lost, paying a rent a car, driving on the %26#39;wrong side%26#39; of the road.
Eurostar is the easiest and most efficient train I have ever had the pleasure to take. Get in at St Pancras station in Central London. 2 hr 15 min later, exit train in Central Paris - 10th arrondissement. Start your trip. Easy peasy.

Another for Eurostar - the various ferry routes are a useful option if you are starting in Northern France or Normandy But city centre to city centre via Calais and Dover will take most of a day and in late November the end of the journey will be after dark and the crossing may not be pleasant at hat time of year.

I loved the Eurostar trip from Paris to London. You leave from Gare du Nord and arrive in St Pancras in a little over two hours,. St Pancras is a lovely station. Check out http://www.seat61.com/ for travel tips and book asap.
http://parisbytrain.com/ will give you arrival info and you can see photos of the stations. Keroauc just posted a link to photos as well.
