Will be visiting Paris for 4 days over New Year, trying to find some info on the New Year%26#39;s Day parade/festival. Managed to find websites on previous years events but nothing for 2010. Can anyone help?

The only data I could glean from the site www.paris.info.com is that the Grande Parade de Paris will start at 14.30 on the streets of Paris ,location yet undecided and more info would be available by contacting the Paris Central Touris Office ( not much help,am I ? ).

I%26#39;ll get in touch with the Tourist Office and see if they can confirm the route etc. I was concerned it may not be happening this year, but I%26#39;ll give them a shout. Thanks for your help!

I think it has been more or less abandoned due to lack of interest. I personally have never seen it, and the news media never talk about it. Sometimes I%26#39;ve seen two lines in the newspaper about it the next day, so my suggestion is that if you do actually find it, prepare to be underwhelmed.

That%26#39;s a shame, but we%26#39;ll go with an open mind and if we see it, great, if not, I guess we%26#39;ll end up doing something else like visiting some of the sites which hopefully will be a lot quieter on 1 Jan!! Thanks for your reply.

The splendid Musée Jacquemart André is open on New Year%26#39;s Day and has a beautiful café. You can have a cup of coffee or a meal at the café without visiting the museum but it would be a pity to miss it...
I thought all Scots were required to remain in Scotalnd on Hogmanay in any case??? ;-)

Just had a look at their website, looks great, we may give it a try.
Having spent probably the last 5 or so Hogmanays in Glasgow (much preferred to Edinburgh!) we fancied a change. Managed to get cheap flights so we couldn%26#39;t resist Paris! I will miss not being %26quot;at home%26quot; for Hogmanay but we can do that any time...... :)
