I have done all my homework. I looked up all the rental apartments that I%26#39;m interested in and read the reviews, however I sure would love to hear from folks on this board about these places. We are four adults 59-75 going to Paris for 5 nights. Found several apts. First is St. Paul Beauty, 12 rue des Nonnains D%26#39;Hyeres. Next, Republique Chic Left, 17 rue Beaurepaire and the third, Eitenne Marcel, 5 rue Etienne Marcel. I always plan our trips and my friends think that I%26#39;m the bomb when it comes to traveling. I hate to dissapoint them. This is their first trip with us and I want everything to be perfect. I looked up these apartments, but you know first hand info is sooo much better. Thanks in advance. I will have one more question later, but not about the apartments.

I have only been to Paris once, recently and stayed in an apartment. I think you would get more responses if you told which agency%26#39;s you are considering renting from, or if they are VRBO. If you rent from a reputable agency, you should be fine. I used guestapartment.com. They were absolutely wonderful, but on the more expensive side. I would also suggest that whatever location you choose, have it be close to a metro stop. I found using public transport in Paris to be extremely easy. There are lots of threads that discuss various rental agencies. good luck! Paris is wonderful.

Thanks for the reply. The apartment is from Vacation in Paris. I have looked at all the aspects of the apartment and metro stops. I really just wanted some personal info on the apartments. I have been to Paris 6 times, but never to stay in apartments. Thanks again

The three Vacation in Paris apartments you are looking at are:
All are 3 bedrooms (or 2½) with a single bath and WC in separate room.
#118 St Paul www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_118.htm
#218 Republique www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_218.htm
#119 Eitenne www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_119.htm
I considered 118 and 119 when I was looking for an apartment. Both were good prices for 3 bedrooms but look like the furniture is a bit old. I was leaning toward 118 St Paul because the living space looked bigger.
In the end one of my travel companions dropped out so I ended up getting a two bed / two bath place instead (with PVA http://www.parisvacationapartments.com/)

I haven%26#39;t stayed at any of them but in terms of location.
#1 St. Paul - nice quiet area, very good location. It would be my #1 by a significant amoun
#2 Etienne - big gap between St. Paul. This area is quite busy (Blvd. Sebastopol and Etienne Marcel) and definitely not as nice of St. Paul
#3 Republique - this is on the side of Republique which I favor less
You might take maps.google.com and street view and %26quot;walk around%26quot; the areas a little. Hopefully some people who have stayed in the places will respond.

I go to Paris regularly. Next trip will be leaving Nov.2 and will be there for 6 weeks. I have stayed in many areas of Paris in hotel and apartments. I have found that I prefer the 7th in the St. Dominique/Bourdonnais area and also the www.parisperfect.com apartments. They are all lovely. I can recommend them all. I have stayed in many. Super area with great restaurants, shopping and Eiffel Tower out my window. The buses acrosss the street if I want to use them, but mostly walk to most any place.
Enjoy your planning..

Thanks for your replys. I called the agency this am and the St. Paul Beauty apartment is leased until 2011. The agency thinks that a family member wants it to attend school. We are thinking strongly about the Eye Full Tower ID# 30, 1 Rue Buenos Aires, 75007. I%26#39;m going to google maps to see the neighborhood. We would love to be able to walk around at night in the neighborhood. We have been there several times, but not enough to remember exactly what is in the area. Any opinions of this area? Thanks
|||
The Eye Full Tower property is not really in a neighborhood...as it%26#39;s so close to the Tour Eiffel (that view!), and within the Champs de Mars, but I think you%26#39;d be very happy with that location. Though in the 7th, it%26#39;s actually on the very western edge, not so convenient to food shopping, but not inconvenient either. The location is very convenient to the metro and bus routes for going all over.
I cannot imagine a better location for nighttime strolls in the neighborhood than so close to the Tour Eiffel and the Seine!

Within the last year we have rented 3 apartments in Paris and the last 2 were through an agency called Vacationsinparis.com. One was a 2 bedroom located off Avenue Hoche and the other a 1 bedroom very deluxe in the 16th district. In February we are renting another apartment from Vacationsinparis.com and it is a block off the Champs Elysees and that%26#39;s a 1 bedroom too. This company is from New York and so they deal in dollars. We have had such good service from them and we will continue to rent through them. Good Luck

I can highly recommend the following apartment - have stayed there twice, finding it ideal for our larger group (family of 5). It has 3 bedrooms, 2 washrooms, very well equipped modern kitchen, plus all the bells and whistles (marble %26amp; parquet floors, ornate moldings %26amp; fireplaces, etc.).
The area is upscale residential rather than touristy, which I find more comfortable and secure. Can walk (about 15mins) to Seine; 1 min to Luxembourg Gardens; closest subway is 5-10 minutes away, depending on footwear : )

Thanks for your reply. The apartment is bee-u-t-full!!! However, it is higher than I wanted to go. When you take an 18 days vacation somewhere you have to draw the line. We are taking the Eye Full Tower apartment. It has all that we need and a good neighborhood. So now I%26#39;m off to find a place in Bayeux for a couple of days. Thanks for your reply. Happy traveling. Deb
