We are planning to travel with our two teenagers to Europe and have a 17 hour layover at CDG. We would like to book one room at a hotel that can be accessed without too much trouble using the Air France Shuttle and a short taxi ride there and for our return to CDG. Can any one make a suggestion--does the Hotel Residence Foch make good sense?
Also, we don%26#39;t really enjoy museums, etc. We would like our children to simply enjoy the flavor of the city by doing some walking, dining and people watching.
Your suggestions would be much appreciated!

Since there are four of you a taxi from CDG will be as cheap, indeed almost certainly cheaper, than the AF coach/taxi combination. That pretty much opens up the entire city to you. . I would suggest that you get your hands on a couple of good guidebooks, at least one of which should probably be the well-illustrated Eyewitness guide, and choose an area of the city that appeals. Then you can look for a hotel in that area. My suggestion would be that you avoid the Arc de Triomphe/Champs-Élysées and Eiffel Tower areas, particularly on such a short visit, but you may feel differently when you look at these districts in greater detail.
For the rest it would be easier to advise you if we knew what time of day you will be arriving and leaving.

Thank you very much. We are arriving mid afternoon(on a Sunday) and leaving early the next morning.
