Does anyone know of TER from Bergerac to Libourne and then from Libourne to Lourdes by TVG. Where or how far is the train platform from one to another? Is it far/ ? Any help is much appreciated . Thanks Cath Sherwood

First bit copied from my other reply to similar post
Depends where you change trains.Connections to/from Bergerac with TGV Paris direction are made at Libourne where there are only three platforms, so you can cross from one to the other in no time. The same applies to some trains to/from the Lourdes direction, ie connections at Libourne.
However to/from Lourdes you may also be changing trains at Bordeaux St Jean. This is a station with 18 platforms (if I remember rightly) and is a heaving mass of humanity whenever I go there. There is a tunnel connecting all the platforms and you need to allow at least 10 minutes to get yourself off the first train, find out which platform your next train leaves from and get through to it.
The timetable from Bergerac to Libourne and Bordeaux can be seen here:

and you can find out about trains, connections and fares for the whole journey to/from Lourdes at

Don%26#39;t forget that reservation is compulsory on TGV and the further in advance you book the cheaper it is.
Hope that helps.

Thank you cubsur, for your info and have already purchased rail tickets from Rail Europe. Have been reading previous comments about distance from Bergerac Airport to Rail station, all said about 3 miles.I hope that taxis are readily available or perhaps one has to book early , but from where.Anyhow much appreciated , this is Godsend when one is unable to speak French.

If you are landing at Bergerac with a cheapie UK airline, I think that they have a bus to Bordeaux, just like they have one from Beauvais airport to Paris. Taxis may have to be called from the airport..

There is not even a bus from Bergerac airport into Bergerac town, let alone to Bordeaux!

cubsur, thanks for the info..this confirm my belief that cheap airlines that bring you nowhere aren%26#39;t worth the aggravation when one takes everything in consideration.

Bergerac is an important destination in its own right for the thousands of UK property owners and holidaymakers who every year visit the Dordogne. I would imagine that 99% of arrivals hire a car, get collected or get a taxi into Bergerac town. There%26#39;s no need for a bus.
Yes and lying low cost airlines who tell you Paris and Beauvais are the same place, when they are around 50 miles apart, rely on those who don%26#39;t mind spending longer in a bus than in a plane.
