We are considering our second trip to paris early in april next year. What can we expect in the way of flowers, foliage, things being open, etc. Is April too early to visit or should I wait until June?

Hi there,
We went in late Paris and were just enchanted by the gardens. Spring time in Paris is just beautiful. The weather when we were there was much warmer than we anticipated, to the point where we had to go out and buy some cool tops as everything we took with us was too warm. Don%26#39;t put it off to June - the later you go the more tourists you will have to contend with everywhere you go.
Have a wonderful trip.

I would somewhat disagree with Geebee. The weather in April can be very iffy, with warm, sunny days if you are lucky but more generally chilly and damp weather especially early in the month. (E.Y. %26quot;Yip%26quot; Harburg should have been handsomely rewarded by the Paris Visitors Board for romanticizing April in Paris...) If you don%26#39;t mind the fact that you will pay more for your airfare I think late May/early June is a delightful time to be in the city. The weather is usually beautiful, the gardens are splendid, and the great mass of the summer tourists have not yet begun to pack for their trips.

In April, despite the %26quot;iffy%26quot; weather, the bulbs are in bloom, along with all the flowering trees.
May and June are very %26quot;iffy%26quot; for gardens/flowers, as much replanting is going on for all the flower beds.
I%26#39;ve never been to Paris in July or August, but September is a fabulous month for flowers and weather.

That has not been my experience. Perhaps i have just been lucky...

My impression is that there are lot of planted, already bloomed flowers, but there is also a lot of things just budding. We almost always go the first 10 days in April.
