Hi,
I am looking to go to Nice for about 2 days between Christmas and New Year with my girlfriend. It%26#39;s more of a stopover, before we go to Switzerland to stay with some friends for New Years.
It was a choice of Barcelona and Nice, and as we have both been to Barcelona previously, we decided it would be Nice.
We like to explore new things, although she likes to see the touristic places more then me.
Over 2 days, what would be the %26#39;must see%26#39; places? Or is it more of a %26#39;walk around and see things%26#39; place?
And also, what would be the cheapest accomodation could be found? Quality/size isnt important, as long as its a private room with a toilet and roof :p Would sub €50 euro be possible?
Thanks

The Ibis centre gare has rooms for 49 euros at that time [no change no cancellations ]= recently re-furnbished and handy for trains and tram.
My parents and several friends have stayed there at various points
You can certainly walk about and see plenty of stuff in Nice as well as exploring outside but 2 days isn%26#39;t very long.
Inside Nice must sees include - the market, old town, colline de chateau, port, promenade des angalis, russian cathedral , Cimiez- Roman amphitethatre , monastery
Museums- maisse, chagall, archeaological , modern art, naive art, beaux arts etc etc
Many folk have Eze village and monaco as must sees or st paul de vence

I didn%26#39;t realise Monaco was so close, might go there for 1 of the days, and spend the other day around Nice, thanks for the ideas!
Hotel looks pretty decent and not too far away from stuff. Finally a city where the airpot is not too far away from the city!

We were in Nice there a couple of weeks ago for three days and I would say a walk up Castle Hill is a must see, we were so glad we did, absolutely beautiful views from up there and a wee cafe at the top too.
We stayed in Hotel Magnan, it was 50 euros a night but it%26#39;s a long enough walk to the old town from there.

I have to say don%26#39;t expect too much of Monaco(unless you%26#39;re a motor racing fan),except for the hotel and designer shops up the hill it%26#39;s a bit of a dogs toilet to be honest,Nice and the other coastal towns are much prettier.
