Hi guys,we%26#39;ve been to nice twice before and loved it,stayed in the old town both times. Does the old town/ Nice close down in January or will there be enough open for us to dine out in the evenings and does the train service still run along the coast then?We%26#39;ve only been in October and May before.

Nice is an all year round city- it doesn%26#39;t close down though some restaurants do take holidays in january . There won%26#39;t be any problem with getting places to eat though and the city won%26#39;t feel %26#39;dead%26#39;
In fact january can be the most pleasant time of year to visit Nice which is why the Victorians came here in winter-its often sunny and warm in the sun [chilly in the shade and at night ]

Thanks Selkie,just fancy getting away from the dreary British skies to some crisp,sunny winter sunshine and a glass or two of provencal wine!
