Cottage on the coast of france

my friend that lives in london is looking to drive with her dog to france over christmas and stay in a cozy cottage with a fireplace somewhere on the coast of france. any suggestions are greatly appreciated. the dog is probably the issue and they are willing to pay an extra deposit.

thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I can give you several places to check but the coast of France is rather lengthy - which coast interests her? Additionally, desired time periods and cost expectations are critical elements with any question such as this.

Here are several places to start your search:

The dog will need a pet passport and your friend will have to find a vet in France that is open 24 hours before her intended return to the UK so that the dog can have its compulsory tick treatment. It won%26#39;t be allowed back into the country without that. That will impact on her travel planning somewhat.

Otherwise what she%26#39;s looking for sounds more like something you%26#39;d find in Normandy or Brittany. The Cote d%26#39;Azur is more built up and will be mostly apartments, unless she goes for a villa set a few kms back from the coast.

thank you so much for the quick replies. very useful information about the dog requirements and the links to various sites. i will tell my friend to get on TA herself and clarify the exact area she would like to be at.

thank you again
