Purchasing airfare, Delta vs. AirFrance vs. Orbitz

Okay, so Orbitz had been running a %26quot;super secret sale%26quot; on the itinerary I%26#39;ve been eying. Well, it wasn%26#39;t quite so much a sale as a case of everytime I selected the actual flight itinerary they%26#39;d pop up a message saying %26quot;Good news. We found a better fare,%26quot; usually to the tune of about $150.00 per ticket. This was enough to make them my first choice when it actually came time to purchase the tickets. (There are two of us and $300.00 was worth the risks associated with buying from a 3rd party.%26gt;)

Today they finally stopped the %26#39;secret sale%26#39; (for lack of a better expression), so here%26#39;s my conundrum:

The flight is a joinit AirFrance/Delta arrangement from CVG to CDG to MRS. Flight from CVG to CDG is operated by Delta, the flight to MRS is operated by AirFrance.

I just checked direct purchase of the tickets through Delta and AirFrance. AirFrance is $153.00 (total) less. What are the advantages/disadvantages of buying from one airline or the other?

(Obviously, I%26#39;d been checking their fares as well to compare them to Orbitz, etc.)

Would you buy from Delta? Or AirFrance? If so, why?

If you buy from Delta, you will most likely get 100% of the miles on your account. If with AF, it will be only 25% (this is their policy on least expensive tickets).

If you don%26#39;t have any mileage account with one or the other, go for the cheaper one.
