Place to eat and drinl near Gare de Lyon Station

Hi we are heading to Paris this afternoon, and staying in Novotel Gare de Lyon.

Was wondering if anyone could recommend any good places to get something to eat nearby.

Thanks

The Gare de Lyon has an excellent restaurant inside, I believe on the second floor. See http://www.le-train-bleu.com/

Enjoy!

Gare de Lyon restaurant looks brilliant....but outside our budget I am afraid.

Anyone know any more modest cafes/ restaurants in the area they would recommend?

You could head over to the Marché d%26#39;Aligre two minutes from GdeL, one of the liveliest and most interesting of Paris%26#39; many markets, and have lunch at Le Baron Rouge (aka Le Baron Bouge. It%26#39;s a long story...), a great wine bar on the place d%26#39;Aligre. Or you could check out Le Pause café, a good, solid neighbourhood joint on rue de Charonne near rue du Faubourg St. Antoine.

Right across from Gare de Lyon you will find Brasserie L%26#39;Europeen: www.brasserie-leuropeen.fr/bewax/fr/home.html Lovely place, terrific service and excellent food with many choices. It%26#39;s not as expensive as Le Train Bleu. If you are looking for something even %26quot;humbler,%26quot; an excellent neighborhood bistro on 5 rue Parrot, is Le Duc de Richelieu; do check the posted menu first, as choices are very limited here, but if the offerings du jour suit you, it%26#39;s a delightful bargain. Have a great time.
