Getting from Beauvais airport to Paris at night w/kids

Hi all,

We will be tavelling next week to France planned to land at Beauvais airport around 22:30pm, accompanied by our 2 little girls. Our hotel is in Bagnolet, about 10km from Paris city centre.

From what i checked so far it seems that it%26#39;s no use pre-booking shared shuttle services as their reliability can be doubtful. If that is correct, i understood the right way to go about it is use the airport shuttle to Porte Maillot, then use a local taxi. Since it is our first trip to Paris, and due to the late hour of arrival, with girls, i wonder if someone can provide me with more details as to how exactly do i catch a reliable taxi in Porte Maillot? Or, maybe i%26#39;m totally off-track here and there is a better way to get from Beauvais to the hotel?

Thanks in advance,

Rami.

Beauvais is a long way from Paris.

By the time you reach Port Maillot it will most likely be very near midnight. You%26#39;ll next need a taxi to take you to the other side of Paris, not an easy task with luggage and sleepy children. While taxis are generally waiting for the Beauvais bus to arrive, you might want to consider more direct transportation to your hotel.

1. Private shuttle directly to your hotel

http://www.paris-shuttle.com/ From 120€

http://www.paris-blue-airport-shuttle.fr/ From 65€ (shared ride, one person)

http://www.shuttle-inter.com/ From 120€

http://www.allonavette.fr/ From 115€

En route time approx: 1 hour

__________

2. Taxi (arranged in advance)

Fare: 140€+

En route time approx: 1 hours

You%26#39;ll want to confirm the above prices, they are just a guide. Make travel arrangements in advance if you decide on other than the bus to Porte Maillot.

I always take the bus from Beauvais to Porte Maillot and from there take the metro - but with small children arriving that late and going as far as Bagnolet I wonder if it%26#39;s worth investigating the private shuttle service. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s unreliable or not. When you arrive at Porte Maillot there%26#39;s a taxi rank right beside the car park. It%26#39;s also beside a very big hotel and a conference centre so taxis are very plentiful in the area. Maybe a separate post about the reliability of the Beauvais private shuttle service might bring up a few opinions.

Thank you sarastro and dalkeytraveller,

What we eventually did was take the allonavette service mentioned in sarastro%26#39;s post from and to Beauvais. It was 100% reliable and well-worth the price (110 euro/2 adults and 2 children). A few strong points are that they do not require pre-paiment or even credit card details, they are very responsive and well-equipped (children%26#39;s seats). The drivers were kind, professional and fluent in English. Considering the night of our arrival was very rainy it was definitely the best time/money/health value i could ask for.
