A few Q%26#39;s about Versailles:
For the free ticket for %26gt;18, is this only for EU citizens, or is it international?
Also, is there a better day to go to versailles? are weekdays better than weekends? is it cheaper on weekends? is saturday better than sunday?
Last Question, can anyone tell me a little about all the passes?
Is it cheaper to get a pass than a regular ticket? We don%26#39;t really care about audio guides or any other extras. We just want admission to the basic sites.

Free for all under 18, not just EU citizens.
Weekdays in summer are a bit less crowded then weekends.
Not gettting the audio guides is sad,, you will just be walking through the rooms and have no idea whose or what they were,, spend the few euros.
Weekends in April through mid October( I am not sure on dates, check website,, it will have all this information,, and in english,, google %26quot;Versailles%26quot;) there is a fountain show in upper gardens.,, there is an extra admission charge for them,, but in winter no show, no extra fee, same with weekdays.
If you are going to go,, make it worth the trip,, check out the web site,, and don%26#39;t miss visiting Marie Antionettes Hamlet.

As joan1 says, all under 18s are free, it is only those under 26 that need to be EU citizens to get in free.
Here is some ticket info:

We went on a Wednesday in mid-October this year and the Palace was still enormously crowded, so I suspect it will just be luck rather than judgement which gets you there on a quiet day!
However, I would say that I had a museum pass (my hubby and brother are EU under 26s) and we didn%26#39;t have to queue AT ALL, we simply asked the ticket person at the MP queue and he let us all through in seconds - a relief as when we arrived the ticket queue normal was stretching right back to the gates!

Weekdays are less busy. We went at the weekend, but as we printed our tickets at home, we just walked in at the entrance.
do get the audio guide.

Whenever you go, take the time to go to Marie Antoinette%26#39;s house and area. It was a highlight when we visited. You can either take the long walk or take a tram from the palace. It is very different from the opulence of the palace. It feels like you have stepped into a fairy tale. It is very pretty.
