Will airline ticket prices change?

Planning a trip to Paris from Wash DC early April 2010, will ticket prices change between now and then, if so when would be the best time to buy them, Thanks

Of course, they%26#39;ll change, but nobody knows in which direction or when. All you can do is what the rest of us do - watch the prices and buy when you think the fare is right. Google: airline fare tracker for the names of the web sites that do this, and see what you can get.

It%26#39;s certain they%26#39;ll change, and it can occur within the hour too. If the fare is reasonable to you then you should purchase it.

Here%26#39;s a slightly more strategy-based answer. That doesn%26#39;t mean it%26#39;s any more likely to be right. The strategy just gives me a feeling, which may be no more than a comforting illusion, that I%26#39;m not just a pawn in the hands of the airlines...

Since you are travelling in April you probably should book fairly soon. If your travel dates include Easter that would suggest to me a little more urgency. In the meantime go to mobissimo.com, kayak.com and Bing travel and start tracking fares from your home airport(s) at least once a day. (This can become an obsession, so be warned...) Some people like 1-800flyeurope and other fare trackers but the three I mentioned consistently work best for me. If fares show signs of rising, book. If they are falling even if only slowly, wait a bit. If they remain steady, which is actually what I would think most likely (Watch me be wrong...) I%26#39;d book by late November/early December at the latest. Before you book check the fare against your chosen airline%26#39;s online fare and also check their low fare guarantee if they offer one. If the low fare guarantee is generous I%26#39;d book through the airline rather than a third party site even if the fare was a little higher. Also if you care about airmiles make sure that your ticket qualifies for them. And once you have booked your flight STOP LOOKING unless you are just checking to take advantage of a low fare guarantee.

All of which probably didn%26#39;t help a bit — or did it?

It helped immensely, thank you.
